Only 12,000 qualified under previous initiative
An extra 3,000 Manx residents now qualify for the recently-relaunched Energy Efficiency Scheme.
Environment Minister Geoffrey Boot confirmed at this week's sitting of the House of Keys that around 15,000 individuals are now eligible for the initiative, which aims to help locals cut carbon emissions and fossil fuel usage at home.
Previously, around 12,000 households could apply for grants to make their properties more energy efficient, but only two successfully applied.
