
Could the Isle of Man be used as an "ark" for rare breeds of farms animals in the case of another major disease outbreak in the UK?
The suggestion has been put forward to the Rare Breeds Survival Trust which works to protect endangered species of animals including sheep, pigs and cattle.
The Trust is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and two reps from the UK have been on the Island recently to address a meeting here.
