Hopes to demolish derelict villa
A planning application has been put in for a block of apartments on Douglas Head - just down from Manx Radio's Broadcasting House.
The client, a Mr John Barton, has applied to demolish the residential property currently on the site - which has been derelict for a number of years.
In place of the villa-style house, a block would be built comprising of seven two- and three-bed flats.
Those looking out the front of the apartments will be treated to a full view of Douglas Bay.
Plans to transform the site date back to the late 90s, but if this latest is approved - the applicant says it will go at least some way to meeting the Island's housing needs.
