Cruise ship needs up £500,000 for repair bills
The owners of an historic coastal cruise ship which plies Manx waters during the summer, say her days could be numbered - unless funds are raised to meet repair bills.
Motor vessel Balmoral proved a big hit with Island residents and visitors this year, but up to £500,000 is needed for winter maintenance and dry docking.
The vessel, supported by enthusiasts, relies on a British Isles summer cruise schedule to meet running costs.
But bad weather and technical problems put paid to a number sailings this year, and now an SOS appeal has been launched.
Balmoral supporter Dick Clague says if she has to be taken out of service, she'd be much missed.
