AstronManx head keeps close watch on InSight
A local astronomer says the latest Mars landing is an amazing achievement.
AstroManx founder, Howard Parkin, says he was anxiously following InSight's landing yesterday evening - a crucial seven minutes in the probe's six month journey.
The NASA craft - the 8th US probe to safely land on Mars - is carrying millions of pounds of UK Space Agency kit which will measure seismic waves.
Whilst InSight has already sent its first images home, Mr Parkin says it will now be some time now before anything happens.
