Two major road schemes now under way
Commuters coming into Douglas this morning (Monday) face the prospect of further delays, following the closure of another main route into the town.
Manx Gas has started mains replacement work on Bucks Road.
The utility company says the scheme has been planned for a long time - around 18 months.
Manx Radio put it to Manx Gas's customer network services director, Robert Gardner, that the timing of the work was unfortunate, given it coincides with the resurfacing of the southern end of Douglas promenade:
