Another amber weather warning issued

We're told to expect coastal overtopping at next two high tides

A fresh amber weather warning has been issued by Ronaldsway Met Office - the third in two days.

This one will cover the period from 11:30pm today (Wednesday 4 February) to 3:30pm tomorrow (Thursday 5 February).

Forecasters say the areas most likely to be impacted are: Douglas promenade, Laxey prom, Ramsey prom, western part of Shore Road Rushen, Derbyhaven and to a lesser extent Castletown prom.

A yellow warning level is in place for the high tide overnight into Thursday (1:30am).

We're being told to expect minor coastal overtopping, and slight debris making its way ashore.

Meanwhile, for the high tide during Thursday daytime (1:30pm), the warning will shift to an amber level, meaning we can expect coastal overtopping, and significant debris around the time of high tide.

Due to today's adverse weather this evening's 6:30pm sailing to Heysham, and its return leg have both been cancelled.

In addition, the 8am crossing tomorrow and its return have now also been called off.

The remainder of tomorrow's sailings, and into Friday morning, all remain risk.
