Acts from the last year to be promulgated
This year's Tynwald Day ceremony is set to get underway in St John's this morning (6 July).
The official ceremony begins at 11am with a service in the Royal Chapel, after which proceedings move outside to Tynwald Hill.
Acts from the last year will then be promulgated.
Members of the public also have the opportunity to submit a petition for redress - sometimes known as the “Tynwald Hill petition” - which is one of two ways a public petition can be made to Tynwald.
Away from the formal proceedings on Tynwald Hill, activities are scheduled throughout the day with the stalls on the back Fairfield.
To mark 2026 as ‘Blein ny Gaelgey’, the official Year of the Manx Language, Manx language and culture will be featured prominently across activities throughout the day.
The Manx Tent has representatives from Yn Chruinnaght, the Manx Dialect Group and Mooinjer Veggey amongst others, and can be found close to the entrance of the back Fairfield.
Manx traditional dance, music and song group Perree Bane will perform in the same location at 10am.
Activities on the Back Fairfield start at 9am where you will also find local food vendors, artisan traders, information about charities, children’s rides and entertainment.
Various traffic restrictions will be in place throughout St John's.
