Update given in Tynwald this week
New animal welfare legislation remains a 'high priority' for the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
That's according to the minister.
Clare Barber was asked in Tynwald this week when a new bill would be introduced on the Isle of Man.
A draft version went before the court in April this year but was thrown out after complaints it wasn't fit for purpose.
Mrs Barber says protections for companion animals such as cats, dogs and horses will remain a key focus of any new legislation:
Owner of a block of flats fined for failing to meet fire safety regulations
Review of taxi fares extended to assess impact of Middle East conflict
Liverpool ferry terminal closed again this weekend
