Showcase of David Gilbert's work
It's very much an exhibition of firsts, opening at the Manx Museum and the Sayle Gallery today (Sat 10).
David Gilbert, who is known primarily as a wood sculptor, lived and worked on the Island for a number of years and helped inspire a generation of creative minds.
This exhibition is the first showcase of his work on-island since the 1980s, the first major display of his work since his death in 2016, and the first project to be hosted jointly by Manx National Heritage and the Sayle Gallery.
