Businessman's optimism for deep water berth

A £50 million investment in cruise facilities would pay for itself within five years and lead to a major tourism boost for the Island.

So says a shipping expert ahead of a presentation today (17 Jan) to members of the Island’s business community.

The heads of Cruise Britain and Orkney Islands Tourism will outline the benefits of an expanding cruise sector.

Isle of Man Shipping Association chairman Lars Ugland says funding a deep water berth for visiting cruise ships would have a positive impact, as already shown in other communities.
