Amber warning for coastal overtopping and inner harbour flooding overnight

An amber weather warning will be in place for coastal overtopping and inner harbour flooding in the early hours of tomorrow morning. 

It's due to start at 00.30am until 3.30am on Wednesday (30 September). 

Forecasters at Ronaldsway Met Office say strong to near-gale force south-easterly winds overnight will cause moderate coastal overtopping of water and significant debris along exposed coasts.

The areas expected to be affected are Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey promenades, the western part of Shore Road Rushen, and to a lesser extent Castletown prom.

A yellow warning is also in place for inner harbour flooding during the same time to potentially impact several properties along the Riverside industrial estate and banks of the Sulby River on Gardener's Lane in Ramsey as well as a handful of properties on the Tongue in Douglas.
