Strong southeast gales are expected to drive waves over promenades later tonight

Ronaldsway Met Office has issued an amber warning for coastal overtopping.

Areas affected include Shore Road, as well as the promenades at Castletown, Laxey, Ramsey and Douglas.

The alert takes effect from 9.30pm today (5 December), until 1.30am tomorrow.

Forecasters expect gale-force winds will drive up wave heights, with significant debris possible around high tide at roughly 11.30pm.
