566 babies born last year as boys once again slightly outnumber girls
The most popular baby names for 2025 have been released, with Alba and Maeve (also spelled Meave) sharing the top spot for girls, and Noa, or Noah, leading for boys.
Noa or Noah was the most frequently chosen name for baby boys last year, narrowly ahead of Freddie.
Other popular choices included Alfie, Arthur, Ellis, George and Oscar.
For girls, Alba emerged as a new favourite, matching the number of registrations for Maeve.
Aoife, Daisy, Emma and Isla also featured among the Island’s most commonly chosen names.
In total, 566 babies were born in the Isle of Man in 2025 - a slight decrease of eight compared with the previous year.
As in 2024, boys slightly outnumbered girls, with 288 boys and 278 girls registered.
