EasyJet scaling back on two days worth of flying to save on fuel for 'busier periods'

An airline which services the Isle of Man has announced another cut of 700,000 seats over winter.

In a report from the Financial Times, EasyJet confirmed it's scaling back during the 'quieter season' to save on fuel.

The cuts are equivalent to around two days of flying and the company couldn't confirm to Manx Radio if they would affect the Island.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Like all airlines, we review our schedule on an ongoing basis and sometimes make some changes.

"The changes to our winter flying represent a tiny proportion of our flying programme.

“We make any changes in advance and typically choose multi-daily frequency flights so customers can easily move to an alternative flight.”

FT also reported 600,000 - 700,000 seat cuts to the winter schedule were made in the summer.
