Body lobbied on range of issues
The Tynwald Advisory Council for Disabilities received seven queries over various issues in the last parliamentary year, it’s been revealed.
Chairman of the body, David Anderson MLC, gave the information in response to a Tynwald question for written answer this week.
He said issues raised were parking on pavements, transfers from Liverpool Airport, the Equality Bill, the shared space scheme on Douglas promenade, parking at Tynwald Mills, disabled parking badges, and street furniture on Douglas Quay.
Mr Anderson said three issues were still ongoing, including Douglas Council’s decision to start charging blue badge holders in their pay and display car parks.
