Bus Vannin says its staff have a right to do their job without fear of violence, intimidation or discrimination

Bus Vannin says abuse of any kind towards its drivers will not be tolerated.

It follows a recent court case in which a passenger admitted common assault and threatening behaviour after spitting at a driver.

The bus operator described the passenger's behaviour as unacceptable, and says its staff have the absolute right to carry out their duties without fear of violence, intimidation or discrimination.

It adds that it's grateful to the courts for treating this incident with the seriousness it deserves, and that it will always support its employees in reporting abusive behaviour.

Bus Vannin says the safety and wellbeing of staff and passengers is its top priority, and any form of threatening, violent or discriminatory behaviour will result in immediate action and potential prosecution.
