Time is running out for voluntary groups and businesses offering private health and social care services, to prepare for a new system of state regulation.
From January 2 (Thursday), a wide range of previously unregulated agencies in the Island will be subject to inspections under the Regulation of Care Act.
They include adult day care centres, fostering and adoption agencies, offender accomodation services and independent medical clinics.
For the first time, they're required to register with the Department of Social Care which will inspect premises and standards of care offered.
Minister Chris Robertshaw says there are just a couple of days left for those organisations to get in touch:
For more information uoi can contact the Regulation and Inspection Unit by phone: 642422
