75% of Thie Clag apartments rented out to key workers

All homes created by the redevelopment of the former nurses home in Douglas have been let out. 

Thie Clag, which opened in May, is the first project to be completed by the Manx Development Corporation, an arms length company set up by government in 2021 to re-develop brownfield sites.

Cowley Groves, the estate agent behind the leasing of the apartments, says 73 percent have been rented to key workers - over half of whom are aged 35 and under.

It adds this reflects the growing demand for high-quality and centrally located accommodation.
