Allinson says Ballacloan site is not being advertised on open market
Government has spent almost £70,000 demolishing a former primary school in Douglas.
But it’s not yet clear how much the Ballacloan site, on Demesne Road, has since been valued at.
The demolition started in January last year; the school closed in 2016 three years after it had merged with Fairfield Junior School to become Henry Bloom Noble Primary School.
Treasury Minister Alex Allinson faced questions on the sale of the land in the House of Keys this week and confirmed it had not been advertised on the open market.
Questions were also asked about whether the Manx Development Corporation was paying rent to use the land for the temporary storage of plant vehicles and equipment.
