Police say they saw a fifty per cent rise in the number of people arrested for drink driving over the festive period compared to last year.
Last Christmas, eight people were arrested and five charged – this year, 12 people were arrested.
Head of the Island’s roads policing unit Sergeant Steven Lapsley says of those, two were charged with failing to provide a specimen, five with drink-driving and four released on bail.
