Public asked to share their thoughts on Hartford Homes proposal

Up to 350 homes could be built on land off Braddan Road.

Hartford Homes wants to use the land – which was zoned for housing in the Area Plan for the East – and is currently preparing a planning application.

As part of this it's undertaking a public consultation and will hold a public meeting next week.

The developer wants to build a range of two to five bed properties including some bungalows - 25 per cent of the project will be classed as affordable housing.

It says they will be of 'high quality design' in a 'sustainable location' designed for active travel.

Access would be from Braddan Road with a reserve opportunity for secondary access from Ballafletcher Road.

Hartford Homes says there would be minimal impact on registered trees and any loss would be mitigated through replacement planting.

The public meeting will take place at Douglas Rugby Club on Thursday, 21 October between 4pm and 8pm.
