Head of Mental Health says resources for CAMHS aren't good enough
Resources to support children with mental health issues on the Isle of Man aren't good enough.
That's from Manx Care's Head of Mental Health, Ross Bailey, who's described the 35-week wait for youngsters being referred to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service as 'utterly unacceptable'.
More than one in 10 children aged 4-17 on the Island have been referred to CAMHS - a 400% higher rate than in England and Wales.
Despite increasing demand on the service, Mr Bailey says funding hasn't been increased:
Meningitis B vaccination scheme to be rolled out on-Island
Balthane Roundabout plans on hold until 2027/28 as costs rise
Port St Mary lifeboat launched to rescue stricken fishing vessel
Enquiries ongoing after 'shotgun-like sound' heard near Police Headquarters
