20% of new homes should be sold to Manx workers only, says ex-MHK

Former Liberal Vannin leader says current system isn't fair on younger generations

An MHK is calling for restrictions on property sales to help Manx workers get on the property ladder.

Former Onchan member and ex leader of the Liberal Vannin party Peter Karran says the current situation isn't fair on younger generations.

Mr Karran recently wrote to the chair of the housing board, calling for 20% of new builds to be restricted for purchase by Manx workers only.

He says something needs to be done:
