Island will follow UK move
The Department of Health and Social Care on the Island will introduce a referral to treatment target of 18 weeks within the next five years.
The news was confirmed in the Keys this morning (Tues 23) by Health Minister David Ashford, in reply to a question from Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper.
South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft asked if the Minister believed a three year target would be better, in order to complete the move within the life of the current administration.
But Mr Ashford said he had to be realistic . .
