£1.7m NI refunds issued to new residents

The scheme launched in 2019

Around £1.7million has been refunded to Manx residents as part of a an incentive to bring new workers to the Island.

The National Insurance Holiday Scheme has paid back an average of £3,000 to 571 people since it was launched in April 2019.

The majority are people who haven't previously lived on the Isle of Man, while 120 are returning students.

Figures released by the Treasury show there are an additional 30 application pending, with a refund value of around £90,000.
