Funding would be released from government's capital financing reserve
Over £1.6 million could be spent giving the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre complex a technology upgrade.
Treasury Minister Alex Allinson is to ask Tynwald to authorise the expenditure at its December sitting.
The £1.632 million of capital funding would be released from the capital financing reserve.
If approved, the money would be used to upgrade the sound and lighting equipment in both buildings.
Dr Allinson is requesting the approval on behalf of the Department of Education, Sport & Culture, which operates the facility.
