1-2% of vehicles on Island's roads untaxed

Department of Infrastructure estimates loss of income of £110,220

The Department of Infrastructure estimates that one to two percent of vehicles on the Island's roads are not taxed.

In response to a Tynwald written question from Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson, the department says it's not possible to give an exact loss of revenue.

However, based on recorded vehicle numbers and an average of £165 for a class B vehicle licence, it's anticipated one percent of untaxed vehicles will be resulting in a loss of income of £110,220.
