Classified among the most sustainably managed in the British Isles
The Manx Scallop Fishery has been classified among the most sustainably managed in the British Isles.
The upgraded rating follows improvements to the fishery and its management, over the last two years, as part of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture's long-term management plan.
According to the Marine Conservation Society the Isle of Man's approach demonstrates some very good practices which are clearly extensively researched, monitored and reported on.
Minister Clare Barber has welcomed the endorsement:
First-of-its-kind learning disability and neurodivergent football team 'huge for the Island', say coaches
New CPR machine will make 'huge difference' for patients being transported via air ambulance
Government House issues appeal to residents marking major milestones
Double victory for Island's heritage railways
