Emma Callin appointed to Arts Aid Board to help support Island’s rising artistic talent

Former Head of Arts and Culture brings leadership and performance experience to the charity

A former senior figure in the Island’s arts sector has been appointed to the Board of Arts Aid, the charity that supports exceptionally talented Manx artists and performers.

Emma Callin, who previously served as Head of Arts and Culture for the Isle of Man Government and Arts Development Manager with the Isle of Man Arts Council, joins the charity in its eighth year.

Alongside her professional background, she is also an accomplished performer and is set to appear in the upcoming production of Calendar Girls this May.

Arts Aid says Ms Callin’s leadership skills and experience in the performing arts will be a valuable asset in shaping its strategic direction and advising on funding decisions.

Speaking about her appointment, Ms Callin said: "I'm deeply attuned to the life-changing impact of the arts, and I’m passionate about helping to create opportunities for our young people to further develop their arts education. The Island has an impressive history of developing performers in a range of arts genres and Arts Aid has been key in providing financial aid to support them."

Since 2018, Arts Aid has awarded more than £355,000 to support 36 Isle of Man students in pursuing careers in the arts.

Applications for the 2025 awards programme are now open, with a deadline of 30 June.
