Grant expected to help services at charity's headquarters
Sight Matters has received £34,950 to replace its aging energy systems at its headquarters.
It's come from a grant by the Dormant Assets Fund supported by the Manx Lottery Trust.
The money is expected to replace an ageing boiler, with a new high-efficiency one, at the charity's Corrin Court building.
Kerry Healey from Sight Matters said: "Corrin Court is at the heart of the support we provide to people living with sight loss across the Isle of Man.
"This funding will allow us to replace an ageing system with a more reliable and efficient alternative, helping us maintain a warm and welcoming environment while reducing our energy costs and environmental impact."
Work will also include new flue systems, upgraded pipework, system filtration and improved heating controls which is hoped to lower running costs.
David Christian, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, added: "Sight Matters provides essential services and opportunities for blind and visually impaired people across the Island.
"The trustees are pleased to support this important improvement to Corrin Court which will help the charity protect its services, improve sustainability and use its resources more efficiently in the years ahead."
