Alzheimer's Society - Supporting people with dementia to enjoy books

Douglas City Library have been working with the Alzheimer's Society to make available a range of wonderful books to borrow that help people with dementia continue to enjoy reading and looking at books at different stages of their dementia. The Alzheimer's Society staff will help people living with dementia and their carers or people with memory difficulties explore ways to keep connected to reading and the enjoyment of books when dementia affects retention of information and their concentration is fleeting.
There will also be information on services provided by the Alzheimer's Society and forget-me-not badges will also be available to purchase.
